The motion detectors of my System 3000 do not react.

After the detection of a movement, the motion detectors enter a pause mode of 5 min. During the pause, the LED doesn't light up and new alarms can not be given. If a new movement is detected during the pause, this mode is prolonged for another 5 min. The pause mode ends as soon as no movement is detected for the period of 5 min.

There is condensed water in front of the camera lense.

The camera housing itself is weather-proof (IP66). However, humidity might enter if the rubber strap remains open when installing the SD card and at the same time there is a high air humidity. If condensed water has developed, the camera needs to be operated with opened rubber strap for about 1 hour. Afterwards, the rubber strap can be closed again. To prevent condensed water formation, please make sure the camera is always supplied with electricity when installed outside.

The infrared function of the camera does not work.

It may occur that the infrared filter is stuck, i.e. it is not drawn back at night time. This means that the picture remains dark although the IR-LEDs light up. Normally, this problem can be solved by carefully knocking on the housing or pulling out the power plug.

I receive push messages, but only sporadically.

In general, the camera sends push messages with an alarm interval of 2 min meaning that if a push message is sent after motion detection, the next message will be sent at the earliest 2 min after the previous message, even if another movement is detected within this time slot (the recording function remains unaffected).Besides, a push message schedule might be activated. In this case, push messages are only sent within the set time.

I don't receive push messages (with Android 8 or 9.

With Android 8 and 9, please do not select the battery optimisation in the application.

CA300 Compact Alarm System

I cannot make the unit alarm.

If you have connected the batteries and the wires, have armed the unit and tried to activate the alarm without success, please check the following:

The unit is not responding correctly.

How can I test the detection area of the movement detector, without setting off an alarm?

Arm the control unit - the green LED illuminates to signal the exit delay period. Every detected movement will be signalled by a flash of the red LED and a peep sound. When you have walked around to check the detection area then you can disarm the system. When no movement is detected during a period of 30 seconds, then the system is fully armed. If this happens you should quickly disarm the system.

The PIR movement detector does not respond to a movement.

The reason could be:

An alarm has sounded for no apparent reason.

The PIR movement detector reacts to the movement of an anything which is warmer (or colder) than its surroundings. Possible causes of false alarms are for example:

Remove any potential disturbing factors or change the location of the PIR movement detector.

How large is the detection area of the PIR movement detector?

Under standard conditions (around 20°C) the detector can cover an area of approx. 90° to a distance of up to 6m. It is recommended that the PIR movement detector be mounted in a corner of the room such that the expected movement is across the detection area. The maximum range can vary with high or low temperatures and humidity. Test the detection area, holding the PIR movement detector in the proposed location, before you start with the installation.

What happens after an alarm?

The external siren and the siren in the control unit sound for up to 60 seconds. You can interrupt the siren by disarming the system. If the system is not disarmed the siren will stop automatically after 60 seconds. The system remains armed: If further movement is detected the alarm will be repeated.

The system does not react to my code.

Can I leave the system with the factory set code?

Of course you are free to use the factory set code (11). However, we strongly recommend using a different code for security reasons.

How long do the batteries last?

Under normal use alkaline batteries will last over one year. If the batteries in the control unit need to be changed, this will be indicated by a peep sound and a short flash of the red LED every 20 seconds. If you are not regularly in the protected building we recommend that you change the batteries once a year. Always change the batteries in the external siren and the control unit at the same time.

Can I install the components outdoors?

The control unit and the PIR movement detector are designed for use indoors (or inside smaller buildings such as garden sheds and garages). The external siren can be mounted outdoors, it should however be protected from direct rainfall (mount it beneath a roof overhang for example).

The external siren sounds, but there is no alarm at the control panel.

The control unit makes a peep sound and the red LED flashes regularly every 20 seconds.

The batteries are used up. Replace the batteries in the control unit and in the external siren with new ones. After the battery change remember to reset your code.

DG1 Window Alarm

There is no alarm signal.

Please check the following points:

Battery Polarity Arrow Marking

The unit gives an alarm signal although the window is closed.

Can I use the window alarm for a door?

Yes. It is however, not recommended for the main entrance door of a house or flat when you are absent, as you yourself will cause an alarm on leaving and entering the property.

Can I use the window alarm for cupboard doors, display cases or drawers?

Yes. However if you position the mini alarm on the inside, you yourself will cause an alarm when you open the door or drawer.

Can the window alarm operate on metal framed windows?

Metallic surfaces can reduce the strength of the magnetic field. Test the function of the unit by holding the components on the window and window frame, before final fixing. If no alarm sounds when the magnet is removed (window opened) then try the following:

The surfaces of outer and opening window frame are not level.

Hold the Alarm unit and the magnet in the proposed position and by opening the window test the function. If the initial distance is too great the alarm will not stop when the window is closed. The following should help:

The alarm sound is weak.

The batteries are used up. Insert new batteries. Observe polarity when inserting.

Can I mount the window alarm on all sides of the window frame?

No. You can mount the unit on the opening sides of the window (see fig. 1/2/3). On the hinged side of the window the alarm will not operate (see fig. 4). Observe the following points when mounting:

1. Top Mounting 2. Mounting on the opening side
3. Mounting at the bottom 4.  Alarm should not be used  at the hinge side

Can I mount the window alarm in any orientation?

Yes. The unit will operate in all orientations. You can mount the unit upside down (see fig. A), lying to the left (see fig. B) or lying to the right (see fig. C). Observe the following points when mounting:

A. B. C.

Can I also protect a sash window or sliding window?

Yes. The same points apply:

Can I also protect a tilted window?

Yes, to a limited extend depending on the size and design. Mount the unit on the bottom of the window frame (European style windows). Make sure that in the tilted position an alarm is not already caused. Make sure that when the window is tilted that nobody can reach the ON/OFF switch from outside.

How long does the alarm continue for?

The alarm will continue until the window is closed, until the unit is turned off or until the battery becomes exhausted.

How long will the batteries last for?

It depends on how often an alarm is sounded. On average the batteries will last about a year.

How should I remove the window alarm?

Cut carefully through the adhesive pads with a knife. Then remove the remainder of the pads.

DG6 Door Alarm

When I open the door the door alarm does not respond.

Please check the following points:

After which time is the delayed alarm activated?

You have 12 seconds to open the door. The alarm is activated only when the door is closed again.

Can I change the delay times?

The door alarm is controlled by a microprocessor. The times are fixed and cannot be changed.

Why does the unit not react when I switch the function switch?

The selected mode is only active when the unit is switched on again. Turn the key to the OFF position and then to the ON position.

The LED flashes red. What does that mean?

The batteries are run down. Insert new batteries and check their polarity.

Why is the alarm siren weak?

The batteries are run down. Insert new batteries and check their polarity.

The LED flashes alternately red and green.

What does that mean? The flashing green light means that an alarm was triggered and not switched off with the key. The flashing red LED means that the batteries are run down. Insert new batteries and check their polarity.

Does the door alarm function on metal doors/door frames?

Metal surfaces may reduce the strength of the magnetic field. We recommend that you test the function provisionally before installing the door alarm. If removing the magnet does not trigger an alarm, you should try the following:

The door and the door frame are not even.

Hold the door alarm and the magnet to the door frame and the door and test the function provisionally. If the distance is too large, you can try the following:

How many transmitters (bell push) can I use with each receiver (chime unit)?

As many as you wish. The only limit is the transmission range. Simply purchase an additional set. The components are not available separately.

Can the function/range of the chime be affected by other wireless products?

The wireless chime operates in the 433 MHz frequency band. If you experience any problems with or due to other devices operating in this band then try changing the channel and/or relocating the respective devices.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

Yes, however the correct function depends on the batteries having sufficient capacity and charge. Therefore we recommend you use high quality batteries and to the charge frequently.

The receiver does not react when I press the bell push.

The chime sound is distorted or slow.

This is a sign that the batteries in the receiver are running down. Replace the batteries.

Terminals B and C should not be connected in parallel to an existing system. The bell push must be potential free.If you wish to continue using your existing doorbell system as well as the wireless chime, please connect to terminals A and C as shown in diagram below.

I have connected the transmitter to my existing doorbell system but it doesn't work?

Please check the wiring according to the instruction manual. If you have a DC system then check that the plus (+) wire (8-12V DC) is connected to terminal "C" of the transmitter and the minus (-) pole to terminal "A". The batteries in the transmitter (bell push) are always required. If your existing doorbell system uses less than 8 Volts DC then you will need to connect a small relay between the systems (see diagram below).

Can I connect the wireless chime to a door intercom system?

Not unless your system has suitable output terminals (potential free or 8-12 V DC/AC).

GA50 Gas Alarm

When plugging the mains adapter into the socket, the POWER LED doesn't light up.

The unit generates an alarm as soon as I connect it to the power supply.

Once the power supply has been connected, an automatic self-test is carried out. The gas alarm emits several loud alarm signals. After a few seconds, the alarm will stop and the POWER LED will light up to indicate readiness for operation.

Is it normal that the unit is warm?

The sensor is heated while the unit is on. For this reason it is normal that the unit is slightly warm.

Where do I have to install the gas alarm?

Depending on the type of gas, at the top or the bottom of the wall (see instruction manual).

What is the lower explosive limit?

The lower explosive limit is the minimum gas concentration in the air which makes an explosion possible.

When is the gas alarm triggered?

The gas alarm is triggered when a gas concentration of approx. 5-6% of the lower explosive limit is reached.

When does the alarm stop?

The alarm will sound as long as the gas concentration is higher than approx. 5-6% of the lower explosive limit. As soon as the gas concentration falls back to below this threshold, the alarm will stop automatically and the unit will return to its normal status.

Can the unit be triggered when there is no gas in the air?

The sensor reacts to inflammable gases. An alarm may also be triggered by fumes from detergents, paint, varnish, sprays, cooking, tobacco or candles.

Can the unit be operated with batteries?

The gas alarm must be operated with 12V DC. The required current of 150mA may be supplied by a car battery. Smaller batteries are not able to supply this amount of power.

Can I use the unit in an area under the risk of explosion?

The gas alarm is intended for use in private households, where, under normal circumstances, no gas leak is expected.  It is not authorised for the use in hazardous locations.

How can I test the gas alarm?

Use a gas cigarette lighter (without the flame being lit!) to test the function of the gas alarm (see "Function test" in the instruction manual).

How long does the gas alarm last?

After approx. 5 years of operation, the gas alarm should be replaced.

Does the gas alarm react to sleeping gas / knockout gas?

No, there are special alarms for these types of gases.

Does the gas alarm react to carbon monoxide/dioxide (CO / CO2)?

No, there are special alarms for CO and CO2.

My gas fire/cooker was not lit. I could smell gas but the alarm did not sound.

The odorising substance added to natural gas is designed to be smelt at very low concentrations, which can be below the alarm threshold of the gas alarm. Never try and test the gas alarm by using a gas appliance as there is a danger of explosion! Use a gas cigarette lighter as described in the instruction manual. If you smell gas or the alarm sounds at any time follow the instructions in the manual.

The gas alarm emits a continuous low level noise.

It could be due to a low level of gas in the room which is not sufficient to set off the alarm. Check the function in another room where there is lots of fresh air. If the noise stops in fresh air, have your gas installation checked.

The unit is making short beeping noises and the yellow LED is blinking.

For your safety the GA 617 has a diagnostic feature. Possible malfunction is indicated by simultaneous beeping noise together with blinking of the yellow fault LED. Please consult the user manual.

HA04 Heat Alarm

How long should the battery last?

A new zinc-carbon battery should last one year. Good quality alkaline batteries can last 2-3 years.

Can I use a rechargeable battery?

No. Rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage.

MC01 - Mini Camera

How far can the camera "see"?

The further away an object is, the smaller it will appear on the screen. For example. Mountains in the distance can be seen, but someone standing on the mountain will not be visible. The camera does not have any zoom function.

Which area can I observe?

The camera has an effective angle of vision of about 32°.

Can I mount the camera inside so that it "looks out" through the window?

Yes, however this is not recommended as there will probably be problems with reflections. At night, the infra-red LEDs from the camera will be reflected in the glass.

Is the camera waterproof?

The camera is weatherproof (IP 44) but not waterproof. Try and choose a mounting position which offers some protection against heavy rain falling directly on the camera.

The original cable is not long enough for my application.

Never attempt to cut the cable or to remove the plug. You can buy suitable extension cables (Model No. MC-10M) which are 10 metres long. Each is fitted with a plug and socket so they can simply be plugged onto to the original cable. The total length of the cable should not exceed 45 meters (i.e. you can add up to three 10 metre cables to the original cable). Scart-Cinch Adapter* [TV-Cinch]     Extension cable [MC-10M]

Can I connect two cameras to one TV?

You can connect as many cameras as you have free AV-inputs. For example SCART inputs or Cinch (RCA) AV-inputs. You can also connect a camera to your video recorder.

Can I connect the camera to a video recorder to record pictures/sound?

Yes, simply connect the camera to a SCART input on the video recorder and select that input on the recorder.

Can I connect the camera to a computer?

your computer has a composite-video input (for example on a TV-receiver board) then you can connect the camera using a SCART-cinch adapter*. If the video board has only an S-Video input then you will need an additional adapter from composite-video (cinch socket) to S-Video (mini-DIN plug).

Can I connect the camera so that I can see the pictures on all my TVs?

You can input the signals from the camera into the antenna (RF) system in your house using a RF-modulator. Please consult an electrician or an aerial specialist. M - Modulator V - Antenna distribution amplifier

My TV hasn't got a SCART socket or they are all in use.

You can connect via a video recorder or use a SCART expander (Scart-switcher). Alternatively you can use a SCART-cinch adapter if you have cinch (RCA) inputs*.

I can't see the picture or hear the sound.

Please check the following:

At night there is no picture or the picture is very poor.

The camera needs light to function. If the area you are observing is very dark no picture will be visible. Only the area right in front of the camera will be illuminated by the built in infra-red LEDs. Lighting the area with normal lamps (for example halogen spot lamps) will improve the picture greatly.

Will picture and sound be recorded by a video recorder?

Yes.

MA80 Alarm and Emergency Telephone Dialler

Can I change the number of times the programmed telephone numbers are called?

Yes, you can select between one and five times (see user manual).

If someone answers the call will the other numbers still be called?

Yes, the dialler will always try to ring as many times as programmed. It will only stop if the alarm is disarmed.

Can I extend the telephone cable?

Yes, use a normal telephone extension cable.

Can I see on the remote control if the alarm has been set off?

No.

How can I test the movement detector without setting off an alarm?

You can activate the "gong" function. Each detected movement will be confirmed by "ding dong" sound.

Can I use the unit as an emergency dialler without the movement detector?

Yes, the unit will respond to the panic button when even when the alarm is not armed.  If you just wish to use external sensors, the PIR on the unit can be covered completely with one of the stickers supplied.

The alarm has been set off although no one was present.

The PIR movement detector reacts to the movement of an anything which is warmer (or colder) than its surroundings. Possible causes of false alarms are for example:

Remove any such possible sources of false alarms from the field of view of the PIR, change the position of the unit or the direction the PIR is pointing. TIP: you can use the enclosed stickers to restrict the field of view of the PIR.

The alarm does not ring the number I have programmed.

Check that the dialling function is activated. If this symbol  is visible in the LC-Display then the dialling function has been deactivated.

The unit is trying to call the numbers but does not get through.

The unit does not accept my user code.

The settings may have been lost. Try the factory set code or carry out a reset to restore the factory settings.

I can't remember my user code. What can I do?

Carry out a reset to restore the factory settings.

Why is the red LED on the alarm unit blinking every 3 seconds?

There is no back-up battery installed or it needs replacing.

Can the unit be set to impulse dialling?

No.

What does the person who receives the alarm call hear?

They hear an alarm siren. An individual message cannot be stored.

Can someone with the same type of remote control turn my dialler on/off?

No. Each remote control is individually coded. The code is "learnt" by the dialler in the factory.

Can I use more MA80 devices with one remote control?

Yes, you can activate/deactivate more MA80 devices with one remote control. Therefore, the remote control needs to learn the code from all MA80 devices. Please follow the following steps:

The MA80 no longer reacts to the remote control, although the LED lights up when I press the buttons on the remote control.

The dialler has lost the code of your remote control from its memory. Please re-learn the remote control into the dialler memory (see instructions below).

There is a triple beep when I try to connect another component.

It is possible to connect up to 8 wireless components (including the provided component). The triple beep indicates that 8 components have already been connected. It is therefore not possible to connect another component.

I cannot arm or disarm the alarm with the remote control.

If the LED on the remote control is only dim or does not light up at all when the remote control is pressed then you should replace the battery. If the LED on the remote control lights up but the main unit does not respond, then the main unit must re-learn the code of the remote control. Please follow these steps:

PA6 Personal Alarm

How long do the batteries last?

It depends on how often the alarm or the light is used. If they are not used at all the batteries can last up to 3 years. With new batteries at least 15 one minute alarms can be given.

The sound is no longer as loud as it was.

The batteries are near the end of their life. You should replace it straight away.

The alarm makes (quiet) noises although the pin is in place.

The pin is probably dirty. Please wipe it with a clean dry cloth.

The alarm does not sound when I remove the pin after fitting a new battery.

Check that the batteries are fitted the correct way.

The straps on my bag are too wide to attach the key ring.

Use an additional ring or similar fixture to attach the alarm.

The cord is too short for my use.

You can use any suitable cord to extend it.

RA290Q Smoke Alarm

My RA290Q flashes in rapid succession without an audible signal.

If the smoke detector RA290Q flashes 12 times in rapid succession without an additional acoustic warning signal, it is in pre-alarm status. A certain amount of particles was measured in the smoke chamber and a pre-alarm was triggered. If an increased number of foreign particles is still detected in the smoke chamber during the subsequent control measurement, an alarm is triggered. If this occurs sporadically or once, it may be due to insects in the smoke chamber or a temporary dust concentration. If you observe the behaviour regularly, the smoke detector should be cleaned according to the instructions.

SA101 Stove Alarm

The stove alarm signals during normal cooking.

After the stove alarm is installed, it needs to adjust to the kitchen environment. If the stove alarm starts to signal in a normal cooking situation, reset the alarm during the pre-alarm signal. This will cause the stove alarm to adjust its sensitivity.

The stove alarm does not signal in a hazardous situation.

If the device still doesn't work, ask your retailer.

What to do when changing the cooker?

If the hob type has changed (e.g. from electric hob to gas hob), change the stove alarm hob type setting (see section "Operation" in the manual).

How long do the batteries last?

The battery lasts for up to five years. Please find information concerning the battery replacement in your product manual.

My cooker does not have a cooker hood.

It is still possible to use the stove alarm. The stove alarm can also be installed on the wall using screws, at 40 cm height and at as central location as possible.

My cooker is in the middle of the room and it does not have a cooker hood.

Unfortunately the Stove Alarm is not suitable for these kinds of cookers.

SL02 Light Controller

Why does the light stay on in the morning even though it is already light?

There can be a delay of up to 45 minutes before the SL02 turns the light off.

Why does the light sometimes go out for a few seconds?

The SL02 turns the light off approx. every 45 minutes to check if it is still dark.

Can I use the SL02 outside?

Yes, but only in a weatherproof lantern.

Can I use the SL02 with a dimmer switch?

No.

After installing the SL02 I cannot turn the light on immediately.

Switch off the light and wait at least 15 seconds, then turn on the light again. If the light still does not work then check the bulb is OK.

After activating the unit there was no confirmation blink from the light.

The command has not been accepted. Turn off for 15 seconds and try again (please follow the instructions in the manual exactly).

How long is the light on for when the random function is activated?

On average the light will be on for about 80% of the time during the first half of the night. In the second half it will be on for about 20% of the time.

Can I change the length of time the light is on?

No.

Can I use a timer to switch the unit on and off?

No. The functions can only be activated by the ON-OFF-ON sequences. This cannot be simulated by a timer.

Do I have to restart the unit every night?

No, If you have not operated the light switch the function remains active. Switching the light off deactivates the function.

ST700 Smart Security System

Important note: The latest firmware has to be loaded onto your gateway. If you don't use the latest firmware version, the functions can not be used in the full extent. In the settings under „firmware update“ you can check if your firmware is up-to-date and if updates are available.

How can I connect the central unit with my router?

You can either connect the central unit to the router via network cable or via dlan/ powerline that permits to place the central unit wherever you like in your house.

Can I use the system when my WLAN connection is disrupted?

Yes, the system is still operating. The wireless components continue to communicate with the central unit. However, the app can only be used with WLAN connection. Alternatively, the system can be activated/ deactivated with the help of the wireless remote control.

When starting the app OMGuard SHC, it crashes/ doesn't react.

This problem is linked to the reaction time of the app. Please wait for 5 seconds until you connect with the central unit or when you control the system via app to guarantee that no background processes are running any more.

My system is activated and the panel beeps, but there is no alarm.

A delayed reaction time has been selected for one or more movement detectors or door/window contacts and the detector has not been added to an activation scenario. Please select an input delay of 0 seconds (no input delay) and add the detector to a scenario.

TM02 Acoustic Pressure Mat

Do I have to cover the pressure mat?

The pressure mat should be covered for the following reasons:

What can I cover the pressure mat with?

When is the pressure mat activated?

As soon as there is pressure on the mat. However, if the mat stays pressed, no further signal is generated.

The unit does not generate a signal. What do I have to check?

The signal is generated for no obvious reason.

The cable is not long enough.

You may cut the cable and extend it by using a two-core cable. The total length must not exceed 30m.  Please note: This leads to the expiry of all warranty claims.

How does the siren function work?

If the switch is in the "siren" position and the mat is pressed, an alarm sound can be heard for 30 seconds. The alarm can be interrupted by switching the switch to "0". If the switch stays in the "siren" position, the siren function is still active after the 30 seconds. If the mat is pressed once more, the alarm will sound for 30 seconds again.

SPECIAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE USE OF THE PRESSURE MAT AS A "CAT DOORBELL"

My cat won't sit on the mat.

The mat must always be covered. Cover the pressure mat with a soft mat or a cloth your cat likes to sit on.

Can my cat be hurt by the pressure mat?

No, the pressure mat is safe for cats. There is no radiation or other danger.

My cat is frightened by the acoustic signal.

Switch to the quiet setting or position the alarm unit further away from the door.

The unit reacts to people and other cats.

All active pressure loads will trigger the acoustic signal. You should only switch on the unit when your cat is outside and you need the signal function.

ZM03 PIR Mini Alarm

How should I mount the unit to protect an area of the room?

Mount the unit so that the lens is horizontal or slightly tilted downwards. In the horizontal mounting position movements across the protected area will be detected. Mount the unit so that the expected movement will be across the detection area.

Mounting height approx. 1m to 1.50m
good sensitivity to movements across the protected area not as sensitive to movements directly towards the unit

How should I mount the unit when I wish to protect an entrance?

Mount the unit above the door. The protected area is now like a "curtain".

What does the unit react to, what should I be aware of?

The unit reacts to movement of heat sources. People are heat sources. Other heat sources are for example:

When you decide where to position the alarm unit, take into account that such possible disturbances should not be in the field of view of the unit. They could cause an unwanted alarm.

The unit has reacted when no persons were present.

Check what disturbances could have caused this (see third question). If necessary change the location of the unit.

The unit reacts slowly or only when somebody is very close to the unit.

How quickly a movement is detected and how far the area of detection will be, is dependent on various factors:

Can the unit "see through" walls, objects or windows?

No, the unit reacts to movement of heat sources to which it is directly exposed. If the unit is pointing towards a wall, curtain or window then it will react to the surface temperature of that material. It will not react to temperature changes behind these objects.

The unit doesn't seem to work.

The unit does not react immediately when I switch it on.

When you move the switch to position "Alarm" there is a 15 second delay before the detection is activated.

What happens after an alarm? Is the unit still activated?

When a movement has been detected whilst the alarm function is active, the siren will sound for 30 seconds. As long as the switch is on the "Alarm" position the alarm function remains active. If further movement is detected then the siren will sound again.

When the connected door bell is pushed the unit gives a double chime sound although it is in the alarm position.

The door bell function is independent of the switch position. The unit will always make the double sound when a door bell or other connected switch is activated.
